ASUU begins indefinite strike in Taraba state

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University chapter, began an indefinite strike today.

A statement by the ASUU chairman in the school, Dr Samuel Shikaa, says that the aggrieved lecturers had embarked on a strike action in 2018 but suspended it when the Taraba government promised to meet its demands which included the payment of earned academic allowances from 2014 till date, and the provision of required infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning.

He said the state government is yet to fulfill their promises hence they are going on strike.
