The Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended its three-month old strike. The leadership of the union have given directives for academic activities to resume today Friday February 8th.
Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, National President of the union, announced made this announcement on Thursday February 7th during a press briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress complex in Abuja.
The striking lecturers took the decision after a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.
ASUU began the strike in November 2018.
