Coronavirus – Airport closure extended by FG


Airspace and airports closure in the country has been extended by two weeks by the federal government due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika, made the announcement on Twitter on Monday April 20. He said the airports will no longer open for commercial operations on April 23, due to the extended lock down in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun.

Sirika tweeted; 

“As a result of the extension on lockdown by Mr President, it is no longer possible for us to open our airspace and airports for normal operations by the 23rd April 2020.

“They will remain closed for a further two weeks. This subject to review as appropriate.”


  1. Please, try open after this two weeks added, Nigerians are stuck out side countries and want to come back. Precisely, am done with my contract but can’t come home to meet my family cus airport are closed
