Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke says his entire family prayed and fasted for 40 days in order to seek the face of God before pronouncing his governorship intention.
Adeleke said this while he was at the Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osogbo, capital of Osun State when he submitted his letter of intention to contest for the governorship to Honourable Soji Adagunodo, the state Chairman of PDP,
DailyTrusts reports that Senator Adeleke informed the massive crowd of supporters who were at the PDP Secretariat:
“We held a family meeting to seek God’s guidance on the governorship issue and we said let all of us pray and fast for 40 days for a divine direction from Him and it was when we got a clear signal that I came out to announce that I will contest the Osun Governorship election.”
“During this period of the 40 days of prayers and fasting, we the Adelekes made covenant with God that we shall alleviate the suffering of the people of Osun and liberate them from the shackles of Mr Rauf Rauf Aregbesola and the All Progressive Congress”.
Adeleke enjoined the people of Osun to vote him and he also promised to sustain his late brother legacy Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.
In a chat he had with Daily Trust he said he has fulfilled his campaign promises to his constituents. He said his next priority will be agriculture if he is being elected as the next Governor of Osun.
The Chairman of the party, Mr. Soji Adagunodo has assured him that the primary election of the party would be open and all the aspirants would have the same treatment.
Senator Ademola Adeleke, who is known as the famous ‘dancing senator’ is Davido’s uncle.
Senator Adeleke’s son, singer B-red gloated on social media that any girl that doesn’t marry him is a fool. This came after some minutes his dad Senator Ademola Adeleke made his intention to contest the September 22 governorship election in the state.
