Rivers state governor Barrister Nyesom Wike has said that he will resist any attempt by the EFCC to investigate his administration and officials.
Governor Wike made the accusation on Monday at Channels Television’s Road Map 2019, accusing the Economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) of engaging in media trial in the prosecution of corruption cases.
According to the governor, the masses are tired of the alleged persecution of some individuals.
He further called for collaborative efforts in curbing what he described as impunity in the anti-corruption war.
“EFCC are not working, they cannot do it on their own. That is the problem we are having. You cannot just come and say this man is corrupt. Then the whole world will come and say that they are doing their work. We are tired of that. My administration will resist attempts by the commission to investigate my government or summon its officials.” the governor said
