Alhaji Saidu Yarkufoji, who is Nigerian lawmaker representing Bakura, Zamfara State House of Assembly buries his 3 children and seven other family members.
The funeral ceremony of the late family members of Alhaji Saidu Yarkufoji came after the Zamfara Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Monday had confirmed their demise in a car accident. NAN reported that other seven family members of the lawmaker, who died in the auto crash were his two sisters, four of his grandchildren, and his personal driver.
The accident which occurred along Sokoto-Gusau road on Sunday was confirmed by Route Commander Nasiru Ahmed, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, who said that the accident was a head-on collision between a Volkswagen Golf car and a Coca-Cola truck.
Ahmed said that among the 10 persons, who passed away in the car that was carrying 12 passengers, nine were female. He said that the other two people had sustained countless injuries were still undergoing treatment at Yariman Bakura Special Hospital, Gusau.
Ahmed enjoined motorists in order to avoid night journey and over speeding as much as possible in order to reduce crashes across the state.
This was just coming after it was being reported that the within the space of four months five lawmakers – an ex-lawmaker inclusive – have been reported dead in Nigeria for 2018.

-A member of the Taraba State Assembly, Hosea Ibi, was abducted in the early days of January 2018 and after efforts of the security officers to set him at liberty, he was being murdered. The remains of the lawmaker were discovered by the police on January 15, 2018.
-In the early hours of March 17, 2018, the news of the death of Senator Ali Wakil representing Bauchi South. who reportedly slumped in his home after having a cardiac arrest made people in the National Assembly to mourn over him.
Barely 13 days after the death of Senator Wakil, the news of the death of another lawmaker was being declared.
-This time, it was the demise of Umar Buba Jibril, a member of the House of Representatives representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency. Jibril died at the age of 58 years after serving for good three tenures in the house. Before his death, he was the deputy majority leader.
-The early days of April 2018 were greeted with the news of the death of an ex-lawmaker, Independence Ogunewe. Ogunewe was on Tuesday found dead in his Abuja home on April 3, 2018, at the age of 57-year-old. The former lawmaker represented Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, Imo State for two terms at the House of Representatives.
On April 4, 2018, a first time Senator representing Katsina North constituency, Mustapha Bukar was announced dead.
