A man was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in broad daylight yesterday. The man was killed on Monday evening, at about 5: 30 pm, three days after a close ally of former Gov. Segun Oni, Mr. Bunmi Ojo was assassinated in the capital.
According to eye witness, the man was shot at a junction close to the end of the newly constructed overhead bridge at the Okesa/Ojumose Area. The victim was reportedly a passenger on a commercial motorcycle and was pursued by his assailants, who were on another motorcycle. The gunmen then ordered the motorcycle rider conveying the victim to stop.
When he did, they killed the passenger, but spared the motorcycle rider, and they sped-off immediately.
Shops around the Bisi Market located close to the area were closed early because of the killing as shop owners all went home.
