The cause of Nigerian singerZainab Nielsen fondly called Alizee which came as a surprise to many has been disclosed.

It can be recalled that Zainab and her three-year-old daughter, Petra, were killed on April 5 by her Danish husband, Peter Nielsen, in their apartment at Bellasta Towers, Banana Island, Ikoyi. The post-mortem examination that was conducted on the late Zainab Nielsen, disclosed that she died of trauma which resulted from the injuries that were inflicted on her head.

At a press briefing that was held today, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal said,

“The autospy report revealed that Mrs. Zainab Nielsen suffered trauma as a result of the impact on her head.

Secondly, the forensic experts revealed that there were bloodstains from the couple’s bedroom to the kitchen. Even though they were cleverly wiped from the floor, they were still able to detect the stains with the application of special chemical reagents. .
In addition, bloodstains were also discovered on the wash hand basins and on the hand towel the suspect used in wiping his hands after the commission of the offence.”

Late Alizee’s husband, Peter Nielsen, who was in Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday last week, was remanded in Ikoyi Prison for killing his spouse, Alizee and their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Petra.

The plea of the 53-year-old Peter Nielson who was set on a two-count charge of unlawful murder was not taken by Chief Magistrate Kikelomo Ayeye, as he was taken to Ikoyi Prison following an application that was filed by the police.

Prosecuting counsel, Effiong Asuquo, had submitted a three-page application, containing 15 grounds for Peter Nielsen’s remand in prison.

“There is overwhelming forensic evidence linking the defendant to the assault and murder of his wife and daughter. The investigation has also shown that the defendant was habitually violent to his late wife, Zainab” he said.”
