The bomb explosion that destroyed the building of Ebenco Pharmaceutical Limited, which is situated at Moore area of Ile-Ife, in Osun State, last weekend, was propagated by the brother of the late MD of the company, NewTelegraph reports.
The middle-aged man whose name is Sunday Adebayo was reported to have been so eager to also have a share of the family’s inheritance but he wasn’t supported by other family members. This gingered him to vandalize the firm with Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Sources said Mr. Joshua Ebenezer Adegboye Adebayo, the CEO of Ebenco Pharmaceutical Limited, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, and from there, his younger brother, Sunday Adedayo, had revealed that his brother’s property is being shared.
The children of the Late Mr. Joshua, however, has denied him his demand to have a share in their late father’s property.
The eyewitness who pleaded to remain anonymous said that the incident happened around 11:00 pm with a loud noise in the firm which eventually resulted in the collapsing of the storey building which contains the pharmaceutical store to a bungalow.”
Immediately after the incident occurred, Mr. Adebayo was reported to have shouted “please help” making and people to rush towards him to give some assistance.
“He was taken to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, where he confessed that three of them came for the operation, but the building fell on the remaining two while he managed to escape but not without serious wounds.
“The mastermind of the incident named Sunday Adebayo, a younger brother of the owner of Ebenco Pharmacy upon admission at the hospital revealed how they detonated an IED to cause havoc on the building. But he did not survive it. He eventually gave up the ghost at the hospital” The source said.
Speaking on the development, Femi Fimihan the Osun State Police Commissioner has assured people of the state of their security because his men have swung into proper action in order to maintain orderliness at the scene of the incident.
