Please don’t handcuff me, Orji Uzor Kalu begs as he bags 12 years imprisonment

Justice Idris Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Lagos, sentenced Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, to 12 years imprisonment after declaring the former governor of Abia state guilty of  N7.1bn fraud charges leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The Judge declared Orji Uzor Kalu and his co-defendants guilty of the 39 counts filed against them by the EFCC.

While being escorted out of court, Kalu, who is the Senate’s Chief Whip, begged the prison warders not to handcuff him in public.

“Where are you taking us to now? Please don’t handcuff me. I will follow you.” he said

  1. Mr president you re busy handcuffing and jailing people… Since 2015 I graduated no job and why. So many youths are unemployed and what re doing about it as a president . please Mr president I need a job to cut the whole story short.

  2. Mr president with all due respect…please why 12 years imprisonment but he is not the only that stole …others should be imprisoned too. I don’t want to call names .please Mr president do the needful

  3. If other looters of public funds can be arraigned in the same way, then it is a welcomed development and would serve as a deterrent .But if other past governors and government functionaries who did the same thing or even worse than this cannot be apprehended ,then this is a witch-haunt.It goes to show that this government is lopsided . Let’s see!
