A 43-year-old man Oluwole Bamidele was arrested by police for defiling his neighbour’s 6-year-old daughter in Ogun state.
The resident of Agoro area of Agbado was arrested after the father of the ra.pe victim, Ikechukwu Blessing Orji reported at the Agbado police station.
He reportedly lured the little girl to his room when her mother visited a tailor’s shop.
Police spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the report, saying that the girl reported the sad act to her mother when she returned. Bamidele confessed to the crime after being confronted with a medical report from a General Hospital in the state which confirmed the defilement.
The suspect has been transferred to the Anti-Human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution as directed by the State’s Police Commissioner, Bashir Makama.
