The All Progressives Congress, APC, Benue South caucus meeting that was held in Otukpo on Friday became a pool of blood after six people were killed and others sustained injuries after a fight which broke out during the congress.
Daily Post has reported that during the meeting, a fight broke out between some boys believed to be faithful to the incumbent chairman of the party in the state and a senatorial aspirant, leading to six persons killed, including a man known as Pastor Sam and several other persons were severely injured.
At the moment, Sabon Gari area of Otukpo is currently on fire.
However, when Apeh Peter, the party’s Director of Publicity, was contacted, he said fewer words.
He simply said:
“You cannot say what happened was because of the chairman. In fact there is so much on my mind to talk to you at the moment, I will brief you as the events unfold later on,” before he quickly ended the call.
Speaking on the development, that has happened Mr. Obo Ukam Obo, the Otukpo Divisional Police Officer, said the police were very conscious of the meeting that was held at Double K Resort and was amused that some people decided to bring trouble.
Mr. Obo said the Division had started a proper investigation and that those involved will be apprehended and prosecuted.
In another news, PDP has alleged that INEC is preparing to rig the 2019 election in order to favour the APC candidate, President Buhari.
According to a statement that was released by the Party’s spokesperson, INEC is preparing to establish about 30,000 polling units that will be illegal in remote areas to favour the President to emerge, winner, in the 2019 presidential election.
Part of the statement reads:
“Our investigation shows that this is part of the grand design by the
commission under Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to rig the 2019 general elections in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari and his dysfunctional APC.“We are aware of series of clandestine meetings between compromised officials of the commission and certain agents of the Presidency and APC, where the plot to sneak in the 30, 000 illegal polling units in
some remote areas and through which they plan to allocate votes to President Buhari and the APC were perfected.
